Happy & Sad

Play time:Bath time:Story time:
Calvin put his bib on himself in this picture. And I know it's mean to take a picture while he's whining, but sometimes you have to record those moments too.

The ball game & more

I don't know how Calvin decided to bounce balls on his arms, but he discovered it was fun one day and frequently entertains himself with this game now.

We just decided we are going to be staying in Utah for Christmas instead of going home to Seattle. I feel like I need to post excessive amounts of video clips so Seattle fam can see Calvin doing all the silly things he does even though they don't get to see him in person for awhile.

Ever since we went to the car wash and Calvin helped Brandon dry off the car he has been cleaning walls and floors whenever he finds a washcloth or paper towel laying around.
He picks up new signs pretty fast now. Some of the signs are pretty similar, but in context I can usually figure it out what he's trying to say. His version of "I love you" is pretty different than what we do (crossing our arms over our chest), but it melts my heart when he does it on his own (which is rare). I think "I love you" should have been the first sign we taught him. Isn't that what every mom wants to hear from their kid the most?
Yesterday we were at the library playing outside and he told me he wanted "food" (he uses the sign for "more", I think lots of kids do that). I told him I didn't have any. So he told me "home" and then "food". That's the first time I've seen him put two signs together, so I was pretty impressed with his communication. We went home and got some food : )

Another random thing he does is carry cans out of the pantry all day long.

Labor Day in Midway

On Labor day we planned to do some shopping in Park City, but we stopped by a house in Midway to say hi to some relatives on the way. It's a very old house that they remodeled, it looks amazing. It was a great detour.Calvin was very excited about playing in the dirt. I guess dirt is cooler in a box?

The statue below is how we were able to find the house. We couldn't get a hold of anyone by cell phone so Brandon went by his best guess to get us there - we weren't even kind of close. Luckily everyone knows this statue of a man holding apples that was made by out the huge tree that used to be there. As you can see, Calvin is trying to steal one of the apples.

Winter hat

I found this hat in a random bag full of Todd's shoes. We might not be returning it.

The Cousin Band Continues

Here are the boys rocking out with Calvin's new drum toy:

And Calvin drumming to the point of exhaustion:
